For more than a decade, Rob Garza and Eric Hilton, better known as the international DJ and production duo Thievery Corporation, have been producing an ever-expanding globally conscious catalogue of music that is nearly impossible to classify.
Garza and Hilton first saw success in 1996 with two international underground hit vinyl singles, "Shaolin Satellite" and "2001 Spliff Odyssey," released on their own independent record label, ESL music. In the years to follow, Thievery Corporation released several albums, remixing the likes of David Byrne, The Doors, and Sarah McLachlan in addition to recording original material.
Their latest album, Radio Retaliation, is surely their broadest and most progressive album yet. Radio Retaliation finds inspiration from the uncompromising political music of groups like the Clash, Public Enemy, and Fela Kuti. The album draws attention to cultural movements that inspire us, so it’s no surprise that the duo decided to partner with (RED) and become a (RED)NIGHTS artist. Thievery Corporation continues to inspire fans with their unique global sound and powerful messages.
