On his second album, Simple Times, Cleveland-born singer and songwriter Joshua Radin addresses themes such as love, friendship, and self-exploration. Like the title of his album, the means he employs to deliver these ideas to the world is also quite simple: he picks up a guitar and sings his heart out.

Radin began making music after college, when he moved to New York City and bought his first guitar. Soon after, his music was featured on hit television programs such as Scrubs and Grey’s Anatomy. His debut album, We Were Here, was released in 2006 and drew critical acclaim, establishing Radin as an artist in the tradition of greats like Elliot Smith and Nick Drake.

While We Were Here presented the first batch of songs Radin had ever written, Simple Times offers the next step in the evolution of an artist whose talent is flourishing, whose skills have grown, and whose vision is broader than ever before. Radin acknowledges that we live in confusing, chaotic, and complex times, and he hopes that his fans will find his music to be therapeutic.
